After playing 11 seasons in the NHL former Jets forward Matt Hendricks, who spent a season and a half here in Winnipeg, has decided to retire.  He had signed here back in 2017 after three and a half seasons in Edmonton.  He played one season for Winnipeg before signing with his home state team Minnesota to start the 2018-19 season.  He was acquired this past trade deadline from the Wild for a 7th round pick in 2020.

While he wasn’t in the ‘Peg long he gave back to the community (specially with his Hendricks Heroes initiate which honoured military members). Now that he has hung up his skates he is going to be joining the Wild organization in a player development role.

He finished his career with 54G 62A in 607 games.
