Former Winnipeg Jets defenceman Jacob Bryson signs one-year contract with Red Wings

Not a surprise that he isn’t sticking around after being acquired at trade deadline.

The Jets acquired defenceman Jacob Bryson at the trade deadline this past March as part of a bigger deal with the Sabres. He was seen as a necessary addition with Winnipeg sending two defencemen in Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn the other way.

Bryson would play 15 games for Winnipeg finishing his season with three assists. He has now played 304 NHL games but the 5’9″ Dman didn’t seem likely to stick around once free agency hit.

Sure enough he has signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings with an AAV of 850K.
