The Moose will need a new captain for the 2026-27 season as now former captain Mason Shaw has inked a one-year deal, two-way contract with Minnesota. The Alberta product was actually drafted by the Wild back in 2017 and played his entire pro career with that organization prior to coming to Winnipeg the last two seasons.

Shaw was named captain of Manitoba this past season. He had a productive year putting up 15 goals and 29 assists for 44 points in 71 games.
