Since turning pro four seasons ago, Winnipegger Reece Vitelli has split his time between the ECHL and AHL. The undrafted former captain of Prince Albert in the WHL spent his first two pro seasons in the Coyotes organization on an AHL deal, bouncing between Tucson and Atlanta.
He moved to the Savannah Ghost Pirates for the 2024-25 season and later signed a PTO with Manitoba in March. He played 15 games for his hometown team, recording three assists, including one in his Moose debut.
Prior to his first game in Manitoba, Vitelli spoke about what it meant to play for the team he grew up watching.
“Definitely means a lot for sure. As a little kid, me and my dad, we came to Moose games back when Corey Schneider was playing, and Mike Keane too, so it’s definitely really cool to put on the jersey. It’s an honour.”
That opportunity led to a one-year AHL contract last summer, and he suited up for 12 more games in antlers this season, finishing with one assist.

Vitelli played 48 career AHL games between Tucson and Manitoba. He is heading overseas next season after signing with Kalmar HC of HockeyAllsvenskan, Sweden’s second-tier pro league.
He will play alongside Jets prospect Viktor Klingsell (2025 5th), who signed a two-year deal with Skellefteå AIK but will begin next season on loan with Kalmar.
