- Veteran defenseman Mathieu Schneider has been traded to the Montreal Canadiens, as reported by TSN. It is unclear at this time what Atlanta will receive in return. Details to follow.
UPDATE: The return for Schneider will be draft picks. Atlanta receives a 2nd rounder this year and a 3rd rounder in 2010. Montreal also receives a conditional draft pick from Atlanta (between a 3rd and 5th rounder, depending on how Montreal does in the playoffs).
