It’s been more than 24 hours since the Winnipeg Jets pulled off their Miracle in Montreal, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around what we witnessed.
Erasing a four-goal deficit late in the third period before winning in overtime is the kind of thing you almost have to see to believe. It was a remarkable way to snap a nine-game losing streak and provided Jets fans with a night they won’t soon forget. The Canadiens probability of winning that game was 99.9999%.
In the 16 years since the NHL returned to Winnipeg, we’ve witnessed some incredible regular-season games. From wild back-and-forth affairs to improbable comebacks and unforgettable individual performances, there have been plenty of nights that left us shaking our heads in disbelief.
But where does Tuesday night’s stunning victory over the Canadiens rank among them?
I decided to take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the craziest games we’ve seen since 2011 to see how the Miracle in Montreal stacks up.

November 24, 2018 | Winnipeg Jets 8, St. Louis Blues 4
While this game wasn’t necessarily defined by dramatic momentum swings, it featured one of the greatest individual performances in Jets history. Patrik Laine scored five goals on just five shots, becoming the first player in Jets/Thrashers franchise history to accomplish the feat. An unforgettable night for the Finnish sniper.
