Winnipeg Jets special teams struggles continue as Panthers hand them sixth straight loss

Recap of the game.

The woes continue for the Jets as they suffered their sixth straight defeat (0-4-2) with the Panthers coming into Winnipeg and handing them a 5-1 defeat.

Notable:

This game was over at basically the midpoint of the 1st period with the Panthers scoring three gals in 2 minutes and 51 seconds. The first two goals came 1:15 apart and the next one came 1:36 later. Two of which were power play goals. Dear Mama.

The lone bright spot was when current Jets captain Adam Lowry tied former captain Thomas Steen for 2nd on the All-Time list for shorthanded goals in team history with 13 when he scored one in the 2nd period. 17 will likely finish his career as the second best shorthanded goal scorer as I don’t think he’s ever catching Doug Smail (scored 25).

Of course the Jets gave up their third PP goal of the game on that same power play to make it a 4-1 game and quash any thought of a comeback.

The Panthers would add one more goal to add insult to injury.
