The Jets no longer have the Connor Hellebuyck cloud hanging over their heads after the trade was completed this past Friday. While there were still questions about the netminder on Saturday, the focus has largely shifted to tonight’s matchup against Montreal. Both teams woke up Sunday morning on the outside of a playoff spot, making these two points all the more valuable.
Yesterday, we also learned that the Jets had lost some defensive depth when Jack St. Ivany was claimed off waivers by the Capitals. However, the home team did get a boost with the recall of defence prospect Elias Salomonsson from the Moose.

Odds:
Winnipeg heads into tonight’s Heritage Classic against Montreal with the Canadiens holding a slight edge. The Jets will look to snap their four-game winless streak (0-2-2) at Princess Auto Stadium. With new faces in the lineup following the Connor Hellebuyck trade, finding some secondary scoring and staying disciplined will be key to getting back in the win column.
