The Jets acquired defenceman Jacob Bryson at the trade deadline this past March as part of a bigger deal with the Sabres. He was seen as a necessary addition with Winnipeg sending two defencemen in Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn the other way.

Bryson would play 15 games for Winnipeg finishing his season with three assists. He has now played 304 NHL games but the 5’9″ Dman didn’t seem likely to stick around once free agency hit.
Sure enough he has signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings with an AAV of 850K.
