At the Jets end of season media availability with GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, he was asked about prospect Nikita Chibrikov and his availability for the Moose playoffs as he didn’t get sent down.
He indicated that “Something popped up in the exits there. They’re getting some more opinions to see if it’s something that can be played through or something that may need to be repaired.”

We saw Chibrikov off the ice but around the Moose last week as the team was in the midst of their series with the Admirals here in Winnipeg.
Today, following practice as Manitoba prepares for its second-round series with Grand Rapids, head coach Mark Morrison was asked for an update on the feisty forward.
He said, “He won’t be here either. His injury is season-ending.”
Tough ending for the Russian prospect who had a season ending injury in January of 2025 which cost him the rest of the 2024-25 season. Even when he came back this year he really didn’t start to look like “himself” until a month or two ago.
He played 53 games for the Moose scoring six goals and adding 10 assists. He also played 11 games for the Jets finishing with no points.
