Manitoba Moose pre-game 1 (round 1) report vs Milwaukee Admirals

A look at the projected lineups and pre-game interviews.

It was a very busy day on Tuesday as the Moose held a second straight day of practice before today’s Game 1 of their first round series with the Admirals.

Good news for Manitoba is David Gustafsson skated on Tuesday after taking a maintenance day on Monday. The veteran forward looked like he was in rough shape after this play midway through the 2nd period of the final game of the regular season.

Should be quite the matchup between these two. The Admirals won the season series finishing 5-3-0 while the Moose went (3-4-1) although the two most recent series saw each team win one game.

These two clubs have faced each other a couple of times in the post-season of late including in 2021–22 and the following 2022-23 playoffs. Both those series were won by Milwaukee.

Loaned:

Big boost for the Moose backend ahead of their round 1 playoff series getting Jets prospect Elias Salomonsson loaned to them after being out due to concussion protocol.

He played 32 NHL games this season and didn’t look out of place in a Top 4 role.

Morning skate news:

It’s an optional morning skate today as they get ready. No surprise that Elias Salomonsson is wearing yellow, non-contact since he hasn’t skated with teammates since April 2nd.
