Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel indicates Rasmus Kupari in concussion protocol

Latest on the Finnish forward.

The Jets lost their game against the Islanders to start this four-game road trip and they also lost centre Rasmus Kupari in the 3rd period when he went down awkwardly in a collision with New York’s Hudson Fasching. If you missed it here was the play.

The speedy Finn has played 58 games for Winnipeg this season, mostly on the 4th line, while also getting some time on the penalty kill.

He wasn’t on the ice as per media reports for morning skate today in Philadelphia as the Jets get set to face the Flyers. Naturally this was on the questions posed to head coach Scott Arniel during his morning media availability.

As per Murat Ates of The Athletic Winnipeg the bench boss of the Jets Scott Arniel indicated that Kupari is in concussion protocol.

“Seven days. Wait it out and see how it goes. He’s on the bike today. Said he’s feeling a lot better but obviously have to go through that.”

It’s interesting as the Jets hadn’t recalled anyone from the Moose which means they are playing with just 12 healthy forwards.
