Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: Yesterday in Boston three teams were looking to punch their tickets to the 4 Nation Championship game which we already know will feature the Americans. With Canada defeating Finland 5-3 in the afternoon it meant there will be a re-match on Thursday night between the U.S. and Canada. Should be a doozy although the Americans are dealing with a laundry list of injured players including Matthew Tkachuk (didn’t play yesterday), Auston Matthews (didn’t play yesterday), Charlie McAvoy (didn’t play yesterday), Brady Tkachuk (left game yesterday).

Note II: Back to our local focus the Jets will be holding their first practice tomorrow so we shall see if captain Adam Lowry and winger Morgan Barron, who were both out week-to-week are skating with their teammates.

Note III: The Moose wrapped up six straight games at home yesterday afternoon when they took on the Admirals looking to make it four wins in their last five games. However the second place team in the Central had other ideas as they rolled to a 5-1 victory over Manitoba with the lone goal coming off the stick of Jaret Anderson-Dolan courtesy of a pass from the red-hot Dylan Coghlan. They were without leading scorer Parker Ford who suffered an injury at the end of the game on Sunday and there was no real update other than he has to see team doctors. As well there was no update on Jets prospect Chaz Lucius, who has now missed six of the last seven games with a “medical condition“. Manitoba takes off for eastern Canada today starting a six-game road trip in Laval on Wednesday.
