Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets didn’t practice on Saturday as they cancelled it on Friday night after their loss to the Avs. While they didn’t skate the team made news as it was announced that Winnipeg had acquired Nino Niederreiter from the Preds for a 2024 2nd rounder. They also returned Axel Jonsson-Fjallby to the Moose.

Note II: With it being an afternoon gameday between the Jets and Islanders there is no morning skate. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 2:30 PM CST.

Note III: This afternoon, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and New York, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game (For a variety of ways to enter click here).

Note IV: The Moose concluded their two-game set with the Admirals on Saturday afternoon which saw the home team comeback and pick up a big OT win to sweep the two-game set and run their points streak to nine games (7-0-1-1). Manitoba improves to 29-16-3-3 on the season. They are off today.

Note V: The Ice are riding a nine-game win streak and are in Edmonton where they will take on the Oil Kings. Puck drop is at 5 PM CST.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Niederreiter deal first domino to fall in what should be a busy deadline for Jets. Wieber gives you his thoughts and insight into the newest member of the Jets organization.

Winnipeg Sun: Gentle leash: Jets’ Bowness rewards emotionless, lackluster effort with day off. I was a bit surprised to see that the team had cancelled practice but the veteran bench boss clearly felt his team needed some time away from the rink.
