Note: The Jets were off yesterday in New York City after a big win on Monday night thanks largely to Connor Hellebuyck who made 50 saves in the victory. While they were off there was some news as the team placed Cole Perfetti on injured reserve and they recalled (on an emergency basis) Axel Jonsson-Fjallby from the AHL. With it being a gameday all eyes will be on morning skate which gets underway at 10:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 6:00 PM CST.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and New York, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game (For a variety of ways to enter click here).
Note III: The Moose are riding a hot streak right now with points in seven straight games (5-0-1-1) after they defeated the Griffins on Monday afternoon. They were off on Tuesday but will hit the ice for a practice today as they get themselves set for a tough two game set with the division leading Admirals who got Mark Jankowski back from the Predators yesterday after he cleared waivers.
Note IV: The Ice are in Calgary tonight as their ten game road trip rolls along. They have won seven straight and will look to make that eight when they take on the Hitmen this afternoon at the Saddledome. Puck drop is at 12 PM CST.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Hellebuyck’s latest heroics leads quest for new superlatives. It will be interesting to see if Rick Bowness goes back to him tonight against the Islanders after he faced 80 shots between the two games over the long weekend.
Winnipeg Free Press: Life would be heck without Hellebuyck. (Paywall). Hard to envision this team without 37 in the net.
Winnipeg Free Press: Trouba taking chomp out of Big Apple. (Paywall). Mike caught up with the 2012 1st rounder in a wide-ranging chat including reflections on his teammates here in Winnipeg.
The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets trade deadline dilemma: Does it make sense to move a promising young player? (Paywall). I could be wrong but the only way I see Kevin Cheveldayoff trading a future piece (whether it is a Perfetti or Lambert or Lucius, etc) is if he gets a player with term back. For example a Meier deal for the Jets only happens if there is an extension in place.

Sportsnet: The Jeff Marek Show – Should the Jets go for it? Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman discuss the Winnipeg Jets and whether they should be going for it. Friedman discussed the Jets interest in Timo Meier.
