The Moose came into tonight’s game having won four straight contests and with points in five in a row (4-0-1-0) as they continue to try to keep pace with Milwaukee and Texas who lead the Central Division.
There were some lineup question marks ahead of puck drop as captain Jimmy Oligny, who made his return to the lineup last Monday for that two period game in Toronto, missed the last two games against Iowa while Simon Lundmark didn’t play in the Manitoba win on Friday night. Leading scorer Alex Limoges took an awkward hit in the 1st and didn’t return or play for the 2nd or 3rd periods.

Up front out came leading scorer Alex Limoges (hurt last game) & alternate captain Cole Maier (late scratch), in comes Tyler Boland & Greg Meireles. On D they flipped out one Jets prospect for another with Simon Lundmark returning to the lineup (after being out last game) and Tyrel Bauer coming out.

Had a good spot to watch the Jets and Moose games split screen.
The speed of Axel Jonsson-Fjallby was evident as he and Kristian Reichel converted on this goal to tie the game early in the 1st period.
The Moose were way too casual which led to the visitors taking a 3-1 lead in the 1st period and also saw a goalie change as Arvid Holm got the yank and Oskari Salmimen was inserted in his place.
The special teams were special for the home side as they got things started with Jansen Harkins converting this pass with one second left in the opening period.
Since Leon Gawanke assisted on Jansen Harkins 13th of the season it was appropriate that Harkins would return the favour on Gawanke’s 13th of the year which cut the deficit to 4-3. Another power play goal.
Less than one minute later the game was tied 4-4 as Manitoba struck again on the power play (3/3 at this point) courtesy of Wyatt Bonigovanni putting this shot into the back of the Griffins net.
Ultimately the Moose were able to kill two penalties in OT but fell in the shootout. Their special teams were exceptional this evening going 3/4 on the power play and killed 5/5 penalties.
The four-game win streak is now a six-game points streak (4-0-1-1) as they had lost in OT to the Admirals before they began their win streak.
