The Manitoba Moose opening day lineup is coming into focus

Solid team out of the gate for the AHL club of Winnipeg.

With today’s cuts getting the Moose roster down to 33 players left in training camp the lineup ahead of the game on Saturday afternoon against the IceHogs is starting to come into focus.

The forwards remaining include (21):

Bongiovanni, Caron, Cutler, Johnson, Bilek, Boland, Nikkanen, Lucius, Nardi, Jones, Polei, Reichel, Eyssimont, Stenlund, Limoges, Malott, Torgersson, Maier, Meireles, Lambert and Harkins.

The defencemen remaining include (9):

Stewart, Martenet, Bauer, Sautner, Lundmark, Gawanke, Chisholm, Heinola and Oligny*

The goalies remaining include (3):

Salminen, Holm and Cormier

So what might the lineup look like for game 1:

Malott – Harkins – Eyssimont
Torgersen – Stenlund – Reichel
Polei- Nikkanen – Jones
Limoges – Meireles – Lucius

Chisholm – Gawanke
Heinola – Lundmark
Sautner – Bauer

Salminen
Holm

Notable omissions:

Jets 2022 1st rounder Brad Lambert still needs a contract.

Normally Cole Maier would be centre of the Lunch Pail Line between Evan Polei and Nicholas Jones but he was listed as day-to-day by Moose coach Mark Morrison.

Also the Jets could still end up sending a player down if Mason Appleton comes off IR so that would provide even more depth.
