What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:
- The Ducks have addressed all the team’s weaknesses from last season, but is there new weakness on defense? That is one of the things we should all be looking out for early in the 2009/10 season.
- Patrick Kane has commented, as much as he can at this time, on the incident in Buffalo. Not until this issue is resolved, will Kane be able to comment more than this.
- Adrian Dater links to the Avalanche’s possible new third jersey. As I said time and again last year, I am sick of these new jerseys. Each team should have a home jersey and an away jersey and leave it at that.
- Columbus GM Scott Howson has answered fan questions for Puck-Rakers. Great to see Howson interacting with the Blue Jackets’ fanbase.
- The player profiles continue in Dallas, this time it is Fabian Brunnstrom’s turn. Brunnstrom started out last season with a bang but then came back to earth. While his season wasn’t horrible, it also wasn’t anything to write home about. After the one-year adjustment to the North American game, maybe Brunnstrom will breakout in 2009/10.
- John Glennon wonders whether the Predators were interested in Vinny Prospal, or vice versa? I think Glennon is on to something here. I personally believe Poile voiced interested but Prospal probably wanted to stay on the East Coast.
- Vinny Prospal can be annoying at times. He also can provide offense to a team that desperately needs some.
