Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets news on Thursday was limited to Adam Lowry and Pierre-Luc Dubois being named alternate captains for Team Canada at the World Championship in Finland.

Note II: The Moose practiced on Thursday as they prepared for tonight’s must-win game 4 if they want to keep their season going currently facing a 2-1 deficit to the Admirals in their best of five series. Puck drop tonight at Canada Life goes at 7 PM  and if you’re interested in attending then I’d suggest you click this link to sit in an IC Zone.

Note III: The Ice are also in action tonight and they are looking to wrap up their second round series with the Warriors as they hold a 3-1 edge over Moose Jaw. If you’d like some insight into how games 3 & 4 went in Saskatchewan check out Jake’s Ice Chips column. Puck drop is at 7 PM at the Ice Cave.

Note IV: While we aren’t starting Illegal Pitch to cover the Goldeyes but we do have to mention that today is a big sports day because, in addition to the two hockey games, the American Association season kicks off for Winnipeg this evening at Shaw Park in their home opener. First pitch is at 6:30 PM.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Breaking down five key questions the Jets must answer this off-season. For Kenny these included: 1) Trotz mania/figure out who will be head coach. 2) Figure out what to do with Mark Scheifele. 3) Sign Pierre-Luc Dubois to a long-term deal. 4) Make room on the back end. 5) Bring back Eric Comrie.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Winnipeg Jets roster decisions: Who stays and who goes this offseason? (Paywall). As usual good insight from Murat as he breaks down the roster which includes an interesting nugget about Mark Scheifele’s status for next season.

Global News: Jets Dubois, Lowry named to Team Canada leadership group. No surprise that Lowry is wearing a letter and not a surprise given what we saw this season of the leadership abilities of Dubois, although good that at 23 those qualities are also seen by Hockey Canada.
