Game 61: Jets 7 Golden Knights 3 post-game recap

Post-game recap and interviews with Jets players as well as from interim coach Lowry.

A big win for the Jets as they defeat the Knights 7-3 improving to 28-23-10 on the season. It slides them ahead of ANA and VAN (playing now), 1 back of DAL & 2 back of Vegas (final wild card spot).

Notable:

The Golden Knight start off with a 6-0 shot edge, Jets then go 10-1 and score twice courtesy of Wheeler & Connor.

Jets gave Laurent Brossoit a video tribute after the popular netminder spent three seasons in Winnipeg.

Kyle Connor matched his career high for goals (38) which he set in 2019-20 and he did it this season in ten fewer games. 50 remains very, very plausible. He also hits the 70 point mark for the second time in his career.

Eight straight seasons for Mark Scheifele with at least 30 assists as he hits the mark tonight off the opening goal of the game.

Minutes after the Jets got burned by a lucky bounce for the Golden Knights they were rewarded with one of their own which allowed Nikolaj Ehlers to go roof on Brossoit for his 16th of the year.

Just past the midpoint of the game Logan Stanley completed his Gordie Howe Hattrick as he rocked a shot roof on Laurent Brossoit (which caused him to get yanked from the game). What a first goal of the season.

Josh Morrissey hit is career high for goals in a season as he scored his 8th of the season

That was the 7th shorthanded goal of Adam Lowry‘s career which moves him into a tie with Bryan Little on the all-time list in 3rd spot (combined Jets/Thrashers list). He’s 2nd on the Jets 2.0 list behind Blake Wheeler who has 11.

Multi points:

Kyle Connor 1G 2A
Mark Scheifele 1G 1A
Blake Wheeler 1G 1A
Logan Stanley 1G 1A
Josh Morrissey 1G 1A
