Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets needed to pick up two points and that’s just what they did in the second game of a back-to-back which saw them defeat the first-time ever visiting Kraken. It wasn’t without cost as Cole Perfetti left the game in the 3rd period and Andrew Copp didn’t play as he was being evaluated after taking a Greenway blindside hit the night before last. Expectation is interim coach Dave Lowry will provide an update following practice. Stay tuned for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose will be getting ready to kick off nine games at home starting with a game against the Admirals on Sunday which is the Mikhail Berdin bobblehead game. They did get a boost today with news that David Gustafsson has been activated from LTIR and reassigned to Manitoba.

Jets news:

Global News: Jets push themselves back into playoff equation. They have certainly done that but they face a number of tough tests coming up including the Oilers, Flames, Stars and Avalanche.

Sportsnet: Blake Wheeler’s recent hot play firing up Winnipeg Jets’ playoff hopes. 11 points in 11 periods of play for the captain is impressive but more importantly the team is staying in the fight by adding points to their standings bank.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets’ Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele, Josh Morrissey keeping Winnipeg in playoff contention. (Paywall). This team needed the big boys to step up and that’s just what they’ve done.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets earn crucial points with win over Seattle. While it is a bit hyperbolic to suggest “it was a must win” that was a game the Jets absolutely needed to have so they could get close to the playoff line.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets bounce back to down Kraken 5-3. (Paywall). It had a similar feeling to the game against Nashville where the Jets gave up the first couple of goals before taking over the game.

Seattle Sun Times: Jets pull away in the third to fly past Kraken. They needed the win and they brought it home.
