Note:  Today at 12 pm the Jets are hosting a ‘Remembering Ducky’ special on YouTube and the mobile app. From the email the Jets sent out:

“JetsTV Host Jamie Thomas will be joined by JetsTV Reporter Mitchell Clinton as the two recap Hawerchuk’s Hall of Fame career. Throughout the show, members of the Jets organization will also tell their stories about the legendary number 10. Those guests include Executive Chairman Mark Chipman, Jets General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff, Assistant General Manager and former Jets Equipment Manager Craig Heisinger, and Jets Head Coach Paul Maurice. In addition, Hawerchuk’s son, Eric, will join the show to discuss the Hawerchuk Strong website and how fans can donate to causes that meant the most to Dale.”

Jets news:

The Athletic Winnipeg:  The 3 types of trades the Jets could pursue to meet their needs.  (Paywall).  Murat examines all three types including: 1) The blockbuster 2) The expendable pieces tweak and 3) The cap casualty poach.

Sportsnet:  Jets’ expansion draft protected list 1.0: Roslovic has inside trackKen works through the current Jets team as to whom may be heading out west.  Of course with so many possibilities as to what the team may look like the roster could look quite a bit different next summer.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets need to tinker, not trade stars.  That headline makes me think of that Simpsons line “we are gonna tinker with your ticker”.  Well Jets fans might need a new heart if they think guys like Ehlers or Laine are being dealt.  Scott with an insightful and logical article on why the Jets need to keep those types of players (unless the return is a King’s ransom) and look to other places to find a solution.

The Athletic:  Laine trade talk, Canadiens moves, the goalie market and more. (Paywall).  LeBrun talks more about the Laine chatter and the big takeaway from his piece is he doesn’t think Laine gets traded and perhaps more importantly for folks around these parts doesn’t believe the Jets are shopping him.

The Athletic:  2020 NHL organizational rankings: No. 16 Winnipeg Jets.  (Paywall).  Jets have bumped up 11 spots in Pronman’s rankings.
