Winnipeg Sun:  Jets need to tinker, not trade stars.  That headline makes me think of that Simpsons line “we are gonna tinker with your ticker”.  Well Jets fans might need a new heart if they think guys like Ehlers or Laine are being dealt.  Scott with an insightful and logical article on why the Jets need to keep those types of players (unless the return is a King’s ransom) and look to other places to find a solution.

The Athletic:  2020 NHL organizational rankings: No. 16 Winnipeg Jets.  (Paywall).  Jets have bumped up 11 spots in Pronman’s rankings.  

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets should hold onto Laine, explore other trade options in quest to add centre and top-pairing defencemanTed reacts to the rumour du jour courtesy of the TSN trade bait board.

TSN:  Trade Bait: Finnish sniper Laine on the board.  Hockey is a business and almost no player is untouchable but I suspect unless you are walking away with a King’s ransom you ain’t trading either Laine (#5) or Ehlers (#12).
