Note: This is day 114 since the NHL hit the pause button on the 2019-20 season.
Note II: We recorded another Illegal Curve Hockey Zoomcast/CurveCast last night where we were joined by Dustin Nielson from TSN 1260 Edmonton. Be sure to follow us on YouTube (hit that subscribe button) for the latest episode which will be posted today. Update: You can listen/watch it here.
Jets news:
NHL.com: Jets expect ‘formidable task’ against Flames in Cup Qualifier. The Jets vs. Flames certainly has great series written all over it.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets flying back to town. (Paywall). Who woulda thunk we’d be seeing training camp in July? Development Camp yes. Training Camp no. But that is where we are at.
Winnipeg Sun: Locked down and loading up: Jets are back, readying for NHL return. You won’t get to see the Jets up close and personal (don’t worry we won’t either) but apparently many players are already back in the city.
Illegal Curve: Lots of young Winnipeg Jets D prospects available for the Manitoba Moose next season. Next season there could be five or six 1st or 2nd year D prospects in and out of the Moose lineup. I had a chance to speak to Manitoba head coach Pascal Vincent about this influx of young talent for his roster.
Jets video:
TSN: Jets’ biggest storyline and advantage heading into series vs. Flames. Sara Orlesky and Craig Button join Gino Reda to discuss the biggest story for the Jets when camp opens up, the biggest advantage Winnipeg will have against Calgary in the play-in round, and what Paul Maurice will do with his lineup.
NHL news:
TSN: NHL, NHLPA could finalize ‘tentative’ deal on Return to Play. Again this is just one of many hurdles in front of the league as they continue their push for a return to action.
