Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note:  The Jets hit the ice at the IcePlex on Friday for a practice as they prepared for today’s afternoon contest against the Wild.  It sounds like Jansen Harkins NHL debut may have to wait as it sounds like Jets bench boss Paul Maurice will run the same squad as he used on Thursday against the Hawks.  He did qualify his comments yesterday by saying it will be based on health as they have guys dealing with “nicks and bruises”.  Puck drop is at 1 pm.  Following the game be sure to check back for our post-game recap.

Note II:  The Moose were also on the ice at the IcePlex as they too prepared for a game today as they will kick off the first of six straight at home tonight when they face division rival San Antonio.  Puck drop is at 6 pm and I’ll be jumping in the broadcast booth to provide colour analysis with play-by-play voice Daniel Fink.  Pre-game show starts at 5:45 pm.

Note III:  Tune in for three hours of The Illegal Curve Hockey Show on TSN 1290 Winnipeg with plenty of Winnipeg Jets and NHL talk starting at 8 am.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Slow lift-offs hurting JetsWho knew that they were that slow out of the gate.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Little changes have made a huge difference in Ehlers’ game.  (Paywall).  He should probably be on LeBrun’s list below.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets forced to show their resolve again as they search for ways to keep recent skid from snowballing. (Paywall).  Ken examines the last few games from the Jets perspective and highlights at least one area that is going to require some drastic improvement (spoiler alert: PK).

The Athletic:  The top 10 best value contracts in the NHL.  (Paywall).  No surprise that the Jets top centre cracks this list.
