Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news and audio.

Note:  The Jets had a busy first day of practice in Finland on Tuesday.  The team held another practice today in advance of tomorrow’s first game of the Global Series against the Florida Panthers.

Note II:  The Moose concluded their three-game road trip last night in Milwaukee with a big 2-1 win in OT against an Admirals team that was the top team in the Western Conference.  Mikhail Berdin made his second consecutive start making 29 saves for his second AHL win while Sami Niku scored a highlight reel goal and added an assist on Mason Appleton’s OT winner.  Manitoba has now won five of their last seven games and look like a team starting to find their mojo.  They return to Winnipeg today and will hit the ice tomorrow for practice as they get set for four straight games at Bell MTS Place starting Friday against the Wolves.

Note III:  A little Halloween fun tonight on NHL This Week as the guys talk about the Winnipeg Jets and NHL on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 7 pm.

TSN: What’s going on with Laine? Still without an even strength goal through Winnipeg’s first 12 games, Patrik Laine is under the microscope as the Jets battle the Panthers in his native Finland. With Laine expected to play on the third line in front of his hometown fans, That’s Hockey give their thoughts on the demotion, while also touching on Tyler Myers’ contract status.

TSN: Can the Jets game in Finland spark a turnaround in Laine’s game? OverDrive hosts Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan are joined in studio by TSN Hockey analyst Dave Poulin to get his take on Patrik Laine’s slow start to the season and the impact that going to play a game in his home country could spark a turn around.
