Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  Busy Monday for the Jets (get fully caught up via Jets Practice Report) as we learned that they will be without Matt Hendricks and Brandon Tanev and as a result have recalled Brendan Lemieux and Nic Petan.  The team also placed Adam Lowry on injured reserve retroactive to February 1st.  With the two Moose players up we could see seven of the 12 Jets forwards are players who have spent some time with their AHL affiliate.  The Jets will have a morning skate at 10:30 am and puck drop is at 7 pm with the Coyotes in for a battle of Jets 2.0 vs Jets 1.0.  Update:  Click here to read our Jets pre-game report.  Stay tuned throughout the day for any and all Jets news and updates via  Twitter | Facebook | Instagram.

Note II: The Moose are gonna have to adjust having lost two of their top forwards for tonight’s re-match with the Admirals in Milwaukee.  Manitoba is looking to keep their road streak alive having won five straight on this nine game road trip and have points in thirteen straight (12-0-1) away from Bell MTS Place.  My guess is Chase De Leo and maybe Francis Beauvillier return to the lineup as we didn’t hear about any moves made by them after Petan/Lemieux were recalled.  Puck drop is at 7 pm at UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Jets news:

The Players Tribune:  Winnipeg is GoodWell if Patrik Laine wasn’t already one of the most popular players on the team in this city I suspect this will put him over the topCouple of things jumped out at me reading this: 1) Love how his assessment of the Jets was based on their NHL rating and 2) His assessment of the people in Winnipeg shows a fairly clear understanding of folks here in Manitoba.

Winnipeg Sun:  Five keys to Jets vs Coyotes.  Ken’s big matchup is Blake Wheeler vs Oliver Ekman-Larsson. His keysto the game include: 1) Join the club. 2) Hellebuyck riding high. 3) Providing power. 4) Staying productive. 5) Get Keller going. 6) Perlini finding his way.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Coaching staff needs to get creative as injuries mount.  (Paywall).  The list of guys out is almost as long as the list of guys in.  The good news for the Jets is it isn’t all on the backend like it was last season.
