BU’s Colin Wilson Heads for NHL

From Jim Connelly with the USCHO:

Boston University star and Hobey Baker Hat Trick finalist Colin Wilson signed with the Nashville Predators, forgoing his final two years of eligibility with the Terriers.

Wilson helped Boston University win the National Championship one weekend ago. He finished second in the nation in both points (55) and assists (38). Son of former NHL standout Carey Wilson, the sophomore was selected a First-Team East All-American. The 6-1, 213-pound center was co-Hockey East Scoring Champion, named First-Team All-Hockey East and was selected to the 2009 Frozen Four All-Tournament team in the Terriers run to the title.

Wilson was a first-round draft choice of the Predators in 2008 selected seventh overall.

Always nice to hear about guys who forgo entering the pro’s in order to win a college championship.  (see example of the senior’s on North Carolina’s NCAA Basketball Champs).  Good for him and good luck with the Predators as they can use his offensive talent.  If you missed BU’s emotional 2 goals in the last minute of the Championship game versus Miami (Ohio) here is a clip of those goals.  As well here is a clip of the OT winner by Colby Cohen.
