NHL prop odds are out and Patrik Laine has been picked to finish (once again) second to the Leafs Auston Matthews for the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL rookie of the Year.
I suspect that this is just the first year of many years that we will be seeing the Matthews/Laine battle for supremacy as top of the 2016 draft class.

Interestingly another rookie who didn’t (but could) merit some consideration is Jets 2015 1st round pick Kyle Connor who has shown some good hands/vision/speed in the pre-season with three goals in all three games he has played for Winnipeg.
