The Moose have finally entered must-win territory as they look to catch an IceHogs team for the 5th and final playoff spot in the Central. That wouldn’t be a small task as they came into this evening’s game 12 points back and in a tie with the Wild for the final spot in the division.
Lineup news:
For the third straight game no Axel Jonsson-Fjallby as he continues to be hampered by something. Winnipegger Reece Vitelli fresh off signing a PTO would play in his first game for his hometown team.
Lines & D pairs:
Shaw– Toninato –Suess
Gengenbach – JAD – Lambert
Wagner – King – Zhilkin
Empey – Englebert– Vitelli
Sautner– Coghlan
Phillips – Salomonsson
Anhorn – Barteaux
DiVincentiis
Notable:
Second AHL game for Jamie Engelbert and he’s got his first AHL goal. Winnipegger Reece Vitelli in his first game with his hometown Moose gets the primary assist. And Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis gets his first ever AHL point.
With the game tied 1-1, Jaret Anderson-Dolan got his sixth of the season to put the visitors ahead by one. Jets prospect Brad Lambert picked up his team leading 26th assist of the season.
The Jets prospects are finding the back of the net as Danny Zhilkin (2022 3rd) gets his second in the last four games. He snapped this shot home.
Speaking of prospects, the run that Fabian Wagner (2022 6th) is on right now is nuts. He scored his 6th goal in the last five games. He has scored at least one goal in each of the five games (and twice last game). He is red hot.
Moose needed two points and they get two points as Jaret Anderson-Dolan got his second of the game and the OT winner.
Multi-point game:
Jaret Anderson-Dolan 2G
