Winnipeg Jets win fourth straight as they defeat the Predators 4-1

The Jets quest to match their 15-1-0 start from last year continues as they won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-1-0 on the season as they defeat the Predators 4-1.

Notable:

In case you missed it Dianne Campbell-Scobie, mother of former Jets defenceman Scott Campbell dropped the ceremonial puck, and we wrote about her here.

Early in the game Mark Scheifele scored on the power play to become the all-time franchise points leader surpassing Blake Wheeler with 813 points. The only quibble is that Thrashers/Jets combined. Scheifele is already 18 points past Wheeler for the Jets 2.0 records.

A little insurance from an unlikely source as Logan Stanley set a career high with his second goal of the season to make it a 3-1 game for Winnipeg. If you would have asked me if I’d believe you that 64 would be the only defenceman with a goal through five games I would not.

With a two assist game Jonathan Toews had his first multipoint game in his comeback season.

Connor Hellebuyck was 1:04 away from his 46th career shutout.

The penalty kill has killed 20 of 21 penalties they’ve taken. Remarkable without Adam Lowry and Dylan Samberg.

Multi Point Game:

Vlad Namestnikov 1G 1A
Nino Niederreiter 1G 1A
Jonathan Toews 2A
