Winnipeg Jets update Season Ticket Holders

The Winnipeg Jets provided their season ticket holders with an update on the lockout today.

It reads as follows;

Thank you for your patience over the past few months; the patronage, support and trust Winnipeg Jets fans have provided to our team is widely recognized across the NHL and, as a fan, you should be very proud of this acknowledgment.

In our correspondence dated September 16th, 2012, we advised that a work stoppage had commenced which was expected to delay the opening of training camp and cause games to be cancelled. Since that time, all of the NHL preseason and regular season games in October and November have been cancelled.

Despite the unfortunate work stoppage, we thought we would highlight some of the investments we are making in the MTS Centre this season in our ongoing quest to continue to improve your fan experience:

– We are in the process of installing a new audio system throughout the building designed to significantly enhance your game experience;

– In partnership with MTS, we have made a significant capital investment in building wireless network improvements including cellular and high density WiFi;

– We are in a two-year program of upgrading the washroom capacity at the 100 and 300 levels in the MTS Centre;

– The new Subway branded concession will open on November 9th of this year at the section 111 main concourse concession location.

These investments are just the first stage of a fan experience improvement/capital expenditure multi-year plan for the MTS Centre which will continue through 2015.

The entertainment event calendar at the MTS Centre has never been busier with October and November bringing acts like Justin Bieber, NBA Basketball, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others. We have also made some recent event announcements including Sarah Brightman, The Tenors, Bon Jovi and the 2014 Juno Awards.

This letter will also enable you to enjoy 15% off of all regular priced merchandise at Jets Gear, the Authentic Team Store of the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club. Recognizing that you would typically receive your Jets Gear discount card with your season tickets, until then, we would request that you print this email as acknowledgement of your discount. The letter is valid until such time as your season tickets are delivered to you and may be presented at any of our three convenient Jets Gear locations:

– MTS Centre – 300 Portage Avenue (Portage Avenue & Hargrave Street)

– St. Vital Centre – 1225 St. Mary’s Road (London Drugs / Sears entrance)

– MTS Iceplex – 3969 Portage Avenue

Please visit www.winnipegjets.com/jetsgear for the hours of operation for each location.

At the link noted below, you will also find a feature sheet that highlights some of our exciting new wearables, many of which can be found exclusively in our stores. A number of these pieces are “exclusive” items available only at Jets Gear, including items from Mondetta Clothing, Under Armour, and Fossil. Be sure to look for the “Exclusive Item” logo tagged on select merchandise items in our stores!

Depending on the option you selected in September, we continue to credit interest to your account for any Jets games cancelled this season. As a total of 13 preseason and regular season games have now been cancelled, we have been updating your season ticket holder account status as promised. To date, September and October games have been credited to your account; November will be credited at the end of the month. We would encourage you to visit My Jets Account and click on ‘edit my profile’ for your account update and to track all of your credit earned to date.

As games have not been cancelled beyond the month of November we remain optimistic and hopeful for the return of the Jets this season. Should you have any questions regarding your account, please contact your personal Ticket Sales & Service Representative by phone or email by logging into My Jets Account and clicking on the “contact us” link in the upper right corner.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
