The rumour mill was swirling yesterday that the Jets would be participating on October 26th, 2019 in the Heritage Classic in Regina Saskatchewan next season at recently built Mosaic Stadium (home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL).
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed that the Jets will be participating in this Heritage Classic against the Flames during the 2nd intermission of the Winter Classic being played between the Hawks and Bruins at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana.
Today at Bell MTS Place we had a chance to get some reaction to the news although at the time with Josh Morrissey and Adam Lowry it still wasn’t confirmed hence the use of the word “hypothetical”.

This will be the second Heritage Classic for the Jets after they hosted the Oilers in their first ever one, which was a highly successful event at IG Field. It will also be just the second time for the Flames after they last participated back in 2011 when they took on the Canadians at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. This puts Winnipeg and Calgary in line with Ottawa and Edmonton for number of outdoor games played. Montreal and Toronto have each played in three while Vancouver has played just one. Interestingly the Leafs haven’t yet participated in a Heritage Classic game.
This is the second time the Jets will be the home team for the Heritage Classic. In 2016 when facing the Oilers they wore the white ones that fans love. Would you prefer to see a dark Heritage Classic uniform for the game next season?
Another question becomes how many folks will be making the trip one province over for the weekend in late October to go see the Jets and Flames play outdoors? What are your thoughts on the game?
