When the Jets had to qualify their RFAs, two guys were left off the list. One was veteran Mason Shaw and the other was Jets draft pick Simon Lundmark which made them both UFAs and free to sign with any team. When I heard they hadn’t been qualified I wondered if the organization would want to bring them back but just not at their qualifying amount.
Winnipeg announced they have signed Shaw to a one-year, two-way deal.

Shaw was a good veteran presence for the Manitoba Moose last season. The Alberta product played 72 games for the Moose during the 2024-25 campaign which saw him score 17 goals along with 20 assists. He also has 82 total NHL games under his belt with the Wild. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up with the Moose that he wears the ‘C’ with Dominic Toninato moving on to a new organization.
