Winnipeg Jets sign goalie Eric Comrie to a two-year deal

After signing with the Sabres, the Albertan is back in the ‘Peg.

Who says you can’t go home again and again and again.

Earlier today Frank Seravalli reported that the Jets would be bringing back Eric Comrie as backup goalie to Connor Hellebuyck. Comrie was a 2013 2nd round pick of Winnipeg and really developed under Rick St. Croix during his time with the Manitoba Moose.

He actually played his best hockey in Winnipeg in 2020-21 going 10-5-1 in 19 games with a .920 save.% & 2.58 GAA. He’s extremely close to a bunch of guys on this team so that makes it seamless.

When he had a chance to test free agency a few years back he landed in Buffalo but things never really clicked there so he’s back to Winnipeg for another shot with the Jets.

His agent Ray Petkau said it is a two-year deal with a 825K AAV.
