After being selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2nd round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft (59th overall) Eric Comrie has solidified himself as a top goalie prospect. After playing 51 games for the Moose in 2016-17 Comrie ended up splitting much of last season with Michael Hutchinson but also spent a significant chunk of time up with the big club in relief of former Jets backup goalie Steve Mason.
Today Comrie has a new one-year, two way deal with the Jets worth $650,000.00 at the NHL level.
This will be an interesting season to watch for Comrie as he will try to compete with a new goalie in the mix (Laurent Brossoit) for the Jets backup role and failing that he will end up being the number one guy for the Manitoba Moose.
