Winnipeg Jets shut Bryan Little down for the remainder of the season

The 2019-20 season was not a kind one to Jets veteran centre Bryan Little.  He began the season on IR after he took a big hit in the final exhibition game and then on November 5th in a game against the Devils he took a friendly fire shot to the head which perforated his eardrum and left him dealing with vertigo.

He has been on the ice for some time now with his teammates wearing a yellow non-contact uniform so it was uncertain as to when he may return.

Today Jets head coach Paul Maurice announced the team is shutting him down for the rest of the season.  You can hear his comments here:

Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun adds these tidbits:

Little will have a procedure to have his ear drum fixed. Progress has been good but recent tests suggests the rate of healing won’t get him back in time before the season ends.

Little’s recovery time from his upcoming surgery will be three months.

Tough way for the season to go after playing 82 games in his last two seasons.  He played just seven games scoring twice and adding three assists.
