Winnipeg Jets Shawn Matthias leaves game in 1st period with LBI

After getting caught up with Capitals defenceman Dmitri Orlov in the 1st period Jets winger Shawn Matthias was in considerable pain and stayed down on the ice for some time. Eventually the trainers came to get him and #16 needed help to get off the ice, not putting any weight on his left leg.

Will wait for an update from coach Maurice post-game although we won’t likely know anything until tomorrow’s skate.

If the Jets have to pick up a Moose forward I would expect Andrew Copp to get the call next.
