Winnipeg Jets reduce training camp roster to 25

They were down to 27 after the team announced that Mikhail Berdin wouldn’t be playing in Winnipeg this season and today two more players are heading to the Moose.

They have released 2022 1st rounder Brad Lambert to the Moose. He is still without a contract.

They have also placed Johnny Kovacevic on waivers for purposes of assignment to the Moose.

Placing Kovacevic on waivers is a risk as he is a big (6’5) defenceman who is mobile. Could see a team putting in a claim for him. Kovacevic signed a three year deal with Winnipeg this summer.

Left at camp includes:

Goalies (2): Connor Hellebuyck and David Rittich

Defencemen (9): Josh Morrissey, Brenden Dillon, Dylan DeMelo, Neal Pionk, Nate Schmidt, Logan Stanley, Ville Heinola, Dylan Samberg and  Kyle Capobianco.

Forwards (14): Mark Scheifele, Cole Perfetti, Nikolaj Ehlers, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Kyle Connor, Blake Wheeler, Adam Lowry, Mason Appleton, Sam Gagner, Morgan Barron, Jansen Harkins, Dominic Toninato, David Gustafsson and Saku Maenalanen.
