Winnipeg Jets reassign three players to the Manitoba Moose ahead of NHL All-Star & Player break

The Jets played and lost their final game last night in Columbus ahead of the NHL All-Star weekend which will be followed by the Jets five-day player break.  The Jets won’t be back in action until January 31st when they welcome the Bruins to Winnipeg.

According to the AHL transaction page (which the team has now confirmed) the Jets have re-assigned three players back to the Moose: Cam Schilling, Kristian Vesalainen and Nelson Nogier.

They may also send Jansen Harkins down so he can participate at the AHL All-Star game in Ontario, California but I suspect the Jets are giving him a few days off before he would head to the event which is on Sunday and Monday.

Vesalainen is waiver exempt while Nogier and Schilling have already cleared waivers and weren’t with the Jets for more than 30 days/played 10 games.

Adding the pair of D men will help as the Moose will be without second year pro Logan Stanley who is out with an upper-body injury.

The Moose leave today for Iowa to play a pair of games on Friday and Saturday before they begin the AHL All-Star break.
