Winnipeg Jets prospect Dylan Samberg on the ice as he recovers from high ankle sprain

Had some folks asking me about Dylan Samberg‘s status recently. The Jets prospect defenceman suffered a high ankle sprain on day 1 of training camp and general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff indicated on Sept 24th that the Minnesota product could potentially miss 6-8 weeks.

Today as the Jets prepare to face the Stars team reporter Jamie Thomas indicated:

Dylan Samberg joining #NHLJets in non-contact yellow this morning.

Once he is healthy expect Samberg (2017 2nd) to be assigned to the Manitoba Moose where the second year pro will continue his development with a glut of other Jets drafted prospects on the backend including Ville Heinola (2019 1st), Johnny Kovacevic (2017 3rd), Simon Lundmark (2019 2nd), Declan Chisholm (2018 5th) and Leon Gawanke (2017 5th).

I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
