Winnipeg Jets prospect David Gustafsson dealing with minor lower-body injury

He missed his last game with Tingsryd but doesn’t think it’s a significant issue.

As I do on most days when there are Jets prospects playing overseas I checked the HockeyAllsvenskan stat sheet on Wednesday to see how Jets 2018 2nd rounder David Gustafsson’s and his Tingsryd squad did.  They lost 3-0 but I didn’t see Gustafsson’s name in the game lineup.

When I checked the Tingsryd website it showed that he didn’t play due to injury.

I asked him for a status update during our conversation on Thursday and he indicated it was a minor lower-body injury, one which he didn’t think would cost him more than a few days.

Tingsryd is back in action on Saturday night so we will have to see if he is in the lineup or whether he will take a few more days to ensure he is at 100%. The game preview published today by the team said (via google translate) “We have some players with some small flaws. Therefore, we get to see exactly what the team looks like when we line up for the match on Saturday.”.

It has been a very good season so far for Gustafsson who has seven goals and 10 assists in 16 games for Tingsryd.

If he doesn’t they play on Saturday his squad plays again on Monday. (Update:  He didn’t play in the game).

Plenty more still to come from my chat with David Gustafsson.
