On Saturday night prior to puck drop Jets prospect Brad Lambert (2022 1st) received, for the second straight season, the fan favourite award from the folks in Winnipeg as his Moose team prepared to face the Wild to close out a disappointing 2024-25 season. It is the first time since the 2018-19 season the AHL club of Manitoba did not qualify for the playoffs. They only have two road games next weekend in Texas before things get all wrapped up.
In the 2nd period of the game with about three minutes to go he got rocked along the wall.
Wasn’t all good news for the Moose in the middle frame as Jets prospect Brad Lambert was buried on this play and needed help off the ice.
He wasn’t putting any weight on his left skate.

It didn’t look particularly good as he was helped off the ice by his teammates not putting any weight on his left skate.
But somewhat miraculously he was back for a bit in the 3rd and he actually looked fast.

That didn’t last long however and he would head to the Manitoba dressing room and not return for the rest of the game. Following the OT victory by the home team head coach Mark Morrison was asked for an update. He indicated:
“He came back and tried it. And then left again. But I haven’t heard from the medical staff.”
Following Moose practice today I got the update and while it isn’t great news it could have been worse. I’m told he has an ankle sprain which will sideline him for a few weeks. While he won’t be able to finish the 2024-25 season with his teammates the good news is he avoided the more serious high-ankle sprain which would have been a more lengthy recovery.
