Winnipeg Jets pre-season game 6 roster and projected lines vs Flames

The sixth and final exhibition game roster is set.

About the only things we know with certainty for tonight’s final exhibition game of the pre-season is that the Jets will be icing a mostly veteran lineup with Connor Hellebuyck in net. The goal was to have the roster look similar to the one they will open the season with on October 9th in Edmonton. Of course with a number of young guys and others still trying to carve out a spot there may be some opportunities tonight to make a final big impression on the coaching staff.

Roster:

G: Connor Hellebuyck & Eric Comrie

D: Dylan DeMelo, Neal Pionk, Colin Miller, Haydn Fleury, Josh Morrissey, Dylan Samberg and Elias Salomonsson.

F: Vlad Namestnikov, Alex Iafallo, Gabe Vilardi, Rasmus Kupari, Adam Lowry, Mason Appleton, Nikolaj Ehlers, Morgan Barron, Mark Scheifele, Nino Niederreiter, Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti.

Of interest:

Few things worth noting in the final game group. Prospects Brad Lambert or Nikita Chibrikov are not listed as players tonight. While you might think this means they are likely Moose bound, head coach Scott Arniel said this yesterday:

“Doesn’t mean what you’re gonna see tomorrow night is 100% what you’re gonna see next week. Most of the top end veterans are going to be there because they need the reps to get going, to continue to get ready for next week.”

Also Eric Comrie is the backup for the final two exhibition games. Does this mean something?

Skate news:

As per Mitchell Clinton of the Jets both David Gustafsson and Jaret Anderson-Dolan are taking part in skate this morning which is good news after both missed practice yesterday.

Projected lines and D pairs:

Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Namestnikov-Ehlers
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Kupari-Iafallo

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Fleury-Miller
Salomonsson

Hellebuyck
Comrie

Projections are based on yesterday’s skate. Will be updated (if need be) from this morning’s skate. Mitchell confirmed on Twitter that our projected lines and D pairs were correct.
