The Jets will skate in Winnipeg this morning before they take off for Calgary where they will take on the Flames this evening as the pre-season is coming to a close.
We learned on Sunday that they will be without Kyle Connor and Gabe Vilardi due to illness as well as Nikolaj Ehlers and Nate Schmidt due to injury.
Since the Jets wanted to have veteran lineups for their final two games being this one and Thursday night against the Senators it means that some bubble players will get another chance to make an impression on the coaching staff. Has Ville Heinola done enough to secure a spot despite his waiver exempt status? Is David Gustafsson a lock for the 13th forward role? What about Parker Ford?
Still a few question marks for this Jets club.
Here is the roster for tonight:
Forwards (16): Vlad Namestnikov, Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, David Gustafsson, Mason Appleton, Jeffrey Viel, Morgan Barron, Mark Scheifele, Nino Niederreiter, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Parker Ford and Cole Perfetti.
Defence (9): Dylan DeMelo, Neal Pionk, Brenden Dillon, Ville Heinola, Josh Morrissey and Logan Stanley.
Goalies (2): Connor Hellebuyck and Collin Delia.
Update:
Jets dealing with illness as Scheifele/Barron won’t play tnt with Lambert/Toninato to fill in. It’s possible they have more guys who won’t play tonight. Winnipeg took Jeff Malott and Ashton Sautner to Calgary even though the pair were able to clear waivers today.
