Unlike in seasons past, the pre-season under the new CBA is limited to four exhibition games, making tonight’s contest in Colorado between the Jets and Avalanche Winnipeg’s fourth and final tune-up.
With roster cuts to follow, it is also a final opportunity for players battling for spots to make an impression, and the lineup could offer a clearer indication of what the Jets are envisioning when they open the regular season.

Health updates:
We saw Elias Salomonsson join skate in a yellow, non-contact jersey. Coach Scott Arniel said he is “ahead of schedule”, which was what we reported a month ago, and while he wouldn’t give an exact timeline did say “he’s not the end of the month, he’s probably somewhere maybe in around the middle of the month”. Said they have to focus on conditioning and battles now. Said he will remain in yellow next week.
Regarding Walker Duehr he said he “needs to rehab. It’s not perfect right now”. Called it a slower one. Regarding prospect Garrett Brown he said he is “moving a lot better”, said he thinks he’s off crutches but wasn’t sure if he was on the ice yet. He confirmed that Brown did not need surgery.
Up next:
Puck drop is at 7:30 PM CT and if you are wondering where you can watch it, it is on the Jets website. As I indicated in the morning papers a reminder that we do not have IC Post-Game Shows during the pre-season but you can join us for all 84 games on our YouTube channel so smash that subscribe button.
