The first Jets practice in ages. In fact I looked at the last time the entire squad was on the ice and it was October 24th. Lots of time spent on the power play.
Via Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun we get these lines from practice:
Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Copp-Lowry-Laine
Tanev-Petan-Stafford
Dano-Burmistrov-Thorburn
Extras: De Leo, Howden are extras. Connor in orange non-contact uniform.
Player audio:
Adam Lowry: First practice in almost a month. Did he feel the group was eager to get onto the ice for practice? Feeling energized to close out the trip on a high note? What has to happen to make these next two games successful? On the play of Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk. Do the players focus on the standings as of U.S. Thanksgiving? What has he learned about the group in the first 1/4 of the season?
Patrik Laine: On who he modeled his game after growing up? When he hears himself compared to Ovechkin? What has it been like to get a bit of a breather? Chance to face off against some central division rivals.
Drew Stafford: Does he have the green light for tomorrow? How close to 100% would he say he is? What can he say about the injury itself? Was it related to what happened in pre-season? What is the worst part about sitting out? What are some of the things he does to help keep up the mood of the team during the slide? What does the team miss when they don’t have time for practice? Is it different this year because the team is younger?
Mark Scheifele: On having some time off. On the focus in practice. Veteran presence potentially returning for some touch central division games.
Coach audio:
Paul Maurice: How did today’s practice look to him? Absence of Tobias Enstrom. Health update on Stafford, Connor and Little. Anything new on Mathieu Perreault? Does the day off let them to wipe away the start of the roadtrip? Does he expect the energy level to be high tomorrow? How much stock does he put into faceoffs? Are faceoffs one of the areas hurt without practice? On Connor’s injury.
