The Jets are staying off the ice following last night’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Golden Knights which saw them lose their 15th one goal game of the season (10 in regulation, four in OT and one in a SO). It’s hard not to wonder how different the standings might look if even half of those regulation losses had gone to extra time. They didn’t, and the standings reflect that reality, with Winnipeg currently 32nd overall in the NHL.
The decision to skip practice comes as the Jets prepare to face the Oilers tomorrow night in the second game of this five-game homestand.
There may also be an update on Haydn Fleury, who left the game in the first period on a stretcher after sliding hard into the boards. Head coach Scott Arniel said postgame that Fleury suffered a broken nose along with several other injuries and was kept in hospital overnight for further evaluation.
Fleury health update:
Jets coach Scott Arniel confirmed that Fleury was discharged from hospital and was at the rink this morning with his teammates after last night’s hard slide into the boards which saw him get stretchered off.
