The Jets got the revenge they wanted against Utah last night beating them 5-2 after suffering a 5-2 defeat four days earlier in Salt Lake City which was their second straight victory. Now they prepare again with revenge in their minds for a Flames team that beat them a week ago in Winnipeg 3-1.
The question was whether any one of Mark Scheifele, Mason Appleton or Dylan Samberg may skip practice after each guy took a hard shot at some point last night.
Pre-skate News:
Jets prospect Brad Lambert was sent down to the Moose as Manitoba has a game this afternoon and the team likely wants to keep him in game shape.
Skate news:
As per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press the only player missing is Josh Morrissey. And as Ken notes we don’t know if this is maintenance or the illness that is hampering the team and was the reason why Nikolaj Ehlers was a game-time decision last night.
Lines and D pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Ehlers-Namestnikov-Perfetti
Niederreiter-Kupari-Appleton
Barron-Gustafsson-Iafallo
Heinola-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Stanley-Fleury-Miller
As per Ken with Heinola filling in for the absent Morrissey.
Coach’s comments:
Radio colour analyst of the Jets Mitchell Clinton confirms that bench boss Scott Arniel indicated that Josh Morrissey is dealing with being under the weather similar to how Nikolaj Ehlers was the day before.
