The Jets will look to put their 26th win (a 4-2 victory over the Senators) behind them as they turn their focus to a pair of Central Division rivals starting with the Predators tomorrow evening in Winnipeg before they fly to Colorado to end 2024 with a date against the red-hot Avalanche.
Despite the fact that Nashville was the first Central team to defeat Winnipeg (and cost them Dylan Samberg after breaking his foot with a Steven Stamkos shot) it hasn’t been enough to get the underachieving Preds who sit 7th in the division. Since that victory they have gone 4-7-4 since. They don’t score and they allow a lot of goals which is not a recipe for success to nobody’s surprise.
Skate news:
Looks like 14 skaters on the ice for practice today. Connor Hellebuyck taking it off so Jets pick from 2011 Jason Kasdorf. Mark Scheifele, Gabriel Vilardi, Vlad Namestnikov, Josh Morrissey, Mason Appleton and Colin Miller are also taking the optional.
Jets captain Adam Lowry left the ice early as he took a Morgan Barron shot to the head region but he was fine. Coach didn’t even know it had happened and he was chatting in the hallway.
